There is so much I want to share (probably a novels worth) but not enough space on the blog to do so! lol
Liam is now 3 months old and is such a sweet baby. We are extremely lucky to have him home with us. This year has been the hardest year of my life…I’ve been challenged emotionally, physically, and mentally. I have also been blessed beyond my wildest dreams. They say most babies smile between 1-3 months of age; Liam smiled at me when he was only 3 days old and has smiled at me every day since then. I think it was his way of telling me that our lives would be okay and “normal.” And we are doing great! We all just had to adjust to “OUR NEW NORMAL.” We spend a lot of time visiting with doctors locally and have now started to travel to the Spina Bifida Clinic in Salt Lake City, UT. We do PT exercises with Liam a few times a day. We are extremely grateful for how active his legs have been the past two months (he didn’t have much leg movement at birth). Right now we are keeping a very close eye on his left dislocated hip and his sweet little head (since there is still extra fluid in there). We are hoping to avoid hip and shunt surgery, so far things seem to be going well. But things can definitely change…
We’ve been told that he will probably hit milestones later than the average baby and there are still a lot of unknowns, so it is a bit of a waiting game. Liam has three physical therapists and they all believe that Liam will be able to walk with braces or a walker! I have a feeling he will try to run with his braces, his father is a bit of a daredevil after all. And Liam loves kicking those legs of his and I truly believe miracles happen. In the NICU they told us he didn’t have much movement in his left leg and now he kicks it around like crazy!
Here he is lifting his head up high a week before turning 3 months during some PT exercises:
I am back to photographing sessions. I love photography now more than ever! However, my life is definitely a lot busier these days with Liam’s appointments (his calendar is busier than mine sometimes! ;). Which means that I will be cutting back on the number of sessions I photograph each month and simplifying the way we do things around here. One of the things we are doing to simplify our lives is to get rid of our main website and create a blogsite! Currently working on it now and am looking forward to sharing it with you!
How early should you book? As soon as you know that you want me to photograph your little one. The earlier the better. I’ve already started to book sessions for December. I know what you are thinking, December is 5 months away and its still 100+ degrees outside! I am currently booking for August through December. =)
So if you have a little one on the way or want to capture their next milestone, contact me to schedule a complimentary Design Consultation so we can plan your session.
